The current Evacuation Order affecting the entire District of Summerland has been partially downgraded effective 12 noon to enable partial re-entry of the community for the Trout Creek Neighbourhood, East of Highway 97, only at this time.

The Regional Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) will host a virtual Briefing Information Session and EOC Update today, Monday, August 10, at 6:00 pm. providing the latest information on the Bald Range Wildfire (K51490).
The session will be livestreamed on YouTube and will include updates from:
- BC Wildfire Service
- RCMP
- Regional EOC officials
- District of Summerland elected officials
- Penticton Indian Band representatives
- Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) officials
- City of Penticton elected officials
Residents and community members are encouraged to tune in for the latest information on the wildfire situation, emergency response and regional coordination.

EOC Update - Power Outage Update

Staff are currently working with First Responders to restore power in areas of the community where it is safe to do so.
The restoring of power will be prioritized for critical infrastructure and essential services first, and then followed by the remaining areas of town as they are assessed. This does not signal re-entry to the community as conditions are still being evaluation.
The Evacuation Order issued for the entire District of Summerland remains in effect.

The EVACUATION ORDER issued by the District of Summerland for the entire community of Summerland remains in effect. The City of Penticton has activated its Emergency Operations Centre and is serving as a host community for evacuees.

Due to impacts from the Bald Range Wildfire, power has now been lost throughout the District of Summerland.
When safe to do so, Staff will work to restore power in coordination with First Responders.

An EVACUATION ORDER has been issued for the entire District of Summerland. Residents on evacuation order should leave their properties immediately to keep safe. Residents must evacuate to the evacuee reception centres located at: Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, 273 Power Street, Penticton, Westbank Lions Community Hall, 2466 Main Street, West Kelowna, or 550 Eckhardt Avenue W, Penticton

EOC Update - Boil Water Notice

The District of Summerland wishes to notify ALL USERS of the Summerland Water System that a Boil Water Notice has been issued.
In order to protect fireflows in the Community, the District has bypassed the Water Treatment Plant which is under threat due to fire proximity and untreated water has entered the system.
Interior Health and the District of Summerland recommend that ALL USERS use water that has been boiled or use a safe alternative. Water should be boiled for one minute and allowed to cool before use.
Residents will be notified when the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.
