Inter-Community Licence

The Inter-Community Mobile Business Licence program - delivered in partnership with the Provincial Ministry of Small Business and Revenue – enables businesses to operate in a participating community outside Summerland. Qualifying business can add an inter-community mobile business licence to their existing business licence for an annual fee of $150.

A mobile business with an Inter-Community Mobile Business Licence addon is eligible to operate in participating communities without a physical location or separate business licence in each of these communities.

All mobile businesses are eligible for an inter-community mobile business licence, except certain types of businesses such as escort agencies, body rub services and passenger directed vehicles- for-hire such as taxis, limousines and buses. The mobile label does not apply to businesses selling goods or services from a fixed or semi-fixed location such as a fruit stand/truck, mobile store, flea market, horse drawn carriage, carnival, concession stand or trade show.  These business types require a separate business licence for each municipality in which they operate.
