SUMMERLAND WATERFRONT CONCEPT PLAN
Through a Request for Proposal procurement process, the District of Summerland has retained LEES+Associates, along with their supporting team, to complete a Waterfront Concept Plan. Based on the 2018 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, the Plan will set the direction for park land, beaches, amenities, swimming and water activities, and infrastructure spanning from Peach Orchard Beach Park boat launch to the south end of Rotary Beach Park and everything in between plus “Horse Beach” (16997 Lakeshore Drive).
Summerland’s waterfront is a highly valuable part of the community’s quality of life, culture, and identity.
The objectives of this project are:
- Provide a long-term vision for this public parkland and waterfront;
- Provide direction on park management and protection of habitat;
- Set priorities for improving park amenities, and
- Provide recommendations for implementing the plan over the next 10-15 years.

Round 1 Community Engagement
The project consultants gathered initial input in March through an online survey as well as workshops and interviews with local organizations and youth. Based on this input and comprehensive site research and analysis, proposed key actions for the draft Waterfront Concept Plan have been developed.
