Registration
As our community recovers from the Bald Range Wildfire, Community Services is providing the following accommodations:
Refunds for recreation programs that did not run due to evacuations or facility closures.
Refunds for facility and park bookings affected by closures and recovery efforts.
Refunds for organizations that choose to cancel upcoming bookings.
Waiving the 10% cancellation fee for recreation programs and membership pass cancellations.
Extensions to membership passes to account for time lost during facility closures.
Once our offices reopen on Monday, August 24 at 8:00 am, staff will begin processing refunds for programs cancelled due to wildfire evacuations. Program participants will receive a prorated refund for all impacted sessions.
Refunds will be issued to the original credit card on file whenever possible. If no credit card is saved on the account, the refund will be applied as an account credit. Membership extensions will also be processed automatically.
Customers can expect to receive their refund or account credit by the end of next week. There is no need to contact us regarding the status of your refund unless you have additional questions or have not received your refund after that time.

We accept Interac, Cash, Cheque, Visa, and Mastercard. No postdated cheques.
Cancellations & Withdrawals
The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel programs. This will only be done when circumstances deem it necessary. Every effort will be made to notify participants if this should happen.
Aquatic and Health Club Membership holds
During the term of a 6-month membership, one (1) hold will be permitted.
During the term of a 1-year membership, two (2) holds will be permitted.
- Membership holds may not be backdated unless accompanied by a valid medical statement.
- Membership holds will comprise a continuous period between the requested start date and requested end date.
Summerland Recreation withdrawals
A 10% administrative fee will be charged for all Summerland Recreation program and membership withdrawals subject to the following terms:
- Withdrawal requests received within 2 days of the class start will be prorated.
- No refunds will be issued for swim lessons after the beginning of the third class, or for Advanced Aquatic or First Aid courses within 2 weeks of the start of the program.
- Full/prorated refunds will be considered for all programs and memberships when accompanied by a dated, valid medical note.
- Program material and supply costs are non-refundable.
- The administrative fee will be waived when registering for a program or membership on the same transaction as the refund.
