For all residents that hold open burning permits, it is renewal time! Open burning season runs 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟓 for owners of agricultural properties with over two acres.
Orchard Prunings: Permits for burning orchard prunings are issued year-round by the Summerland Fire Department and are valid on a four-year cycle.
Visit the Summerland Fire Department anytime to renew or obtain a new permit.
Approval is required each time you burn. Call 250-494-7211 to check the venting index and confirm if burning is allowed.
Important: Open burning on residential properties is strictly prohibited.
