During the September 8 and September 29, 2026 Council meetings, the District of Summerland approved temporary measures to support residents and property owners recovering and rebuilding following the 2026 Bald Range Wildfire:
✅ Fee reductions and waivers;
✅ Deferral of certain zoning and sewer regulations to allow eligible wildfire-affected homeowners to use RVs as temporary accommodation while rebuilding.
✅ Deferral of certain shipping container restrictions to provide additional storage options during recovery and rebuilding.
