Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a thunderstorm watch for our region.
Given the recent impacts of the Bald Range Wildfire which has compromised vegetation in some areas, there are risks that heavy rainfall can cause debris flows. Residents in areas affected by the fire should remain vigilant and should call the afterhours emergency line at 250-493-0005 if they observe any slope conditions that appear to be affected by heavy rainfall.
If travelling during heavy rain be careful of pooling water of pooling water, or rapidly changing road conditions caused by wind and rain.
