Last night, our community came together at Memorial Park to recognize and thank the incredible members of the 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 for their courage, dedication and tireless service — especially during this summer’s wildfire emergency

The community was joined by Mayor Doug Holmes and members of Council, as well as the Honourable Kelly Greene, B.C.’s Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness, and Amelia Boultbee, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Boundary-Similkameen, to recognize and thank the members of the Summerland Fire Department for their outstanding commitment, courage and dedication to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Kinsmen Club of Summerland, Summerland Legion and Summerland Men’s Shed for hosting the free community BBQ.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came out to show their appreciation. Your support, gratitude and kind words mean so much to our firefighters and their families.
