The Summerland Landfill remains impacted by the Bald Range Wildfire, and crews continue to respond to an active fire at the site. Unfortunately, the landfill compost site sustained damage to electrical infrastructure and equipment, and food scraps cannot be processed at this time.

 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭 (𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭) 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭.

 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 for all residential properties.

 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 (leaves, grass, branches, and prunings) and will be collected 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤, alternating with recycling collection.

The District will continue to provide updates on repairs to the compost site and the reopening of the Summerland Landfill as information becomes available.
