The District has received a response to the letter we sent to the regulator. The District remains opposed to any gravel mine in this ecologically and archaeologically sensitive area.

In their reply, the regulatory decision maker has decided to allow public comment on this project. The Ministry has provided this link with information on the project: https://mines.nrs.gov.bc.ca/mine/6a56bd640f5128f67b2f86bf/overview.

Residents are encouraged to visit this link and provide comments to MMD-Kamloops@gov.bc.ca with the subject line “Garnet Valley Road Pit” before August 15, 2026.
