The Summerland Fire Department, in collaboration with BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), would like to inform residents that a planned burn training exercise will take place 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟕 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟑:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌, near the Summerland Rodeo Grounds.
Residents may notice smoke in and around the training grounds area during this time. This is a planned and controlled exercise conducted under monitored conditions by BC Wildfire Service and your local fire department.
This training opportunity helps improve wildfire preparedness, strengthens coordination between agencies, and provides valuable hands-on experience for crews in a safe environment.
