The Summerland Landfill offers two types of Class A compost, perfect for your garden and landscaping needs! All composted materials are tested and safe to use.
𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 & 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 – made from food scraps collected from Summerland homes and yard waste
𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 – made from wastewater sludge and wood chips
𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝 – a mix of biosolids compost and sandy soil
𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 (𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐬 & 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬):
Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon), excluding statutory holidays
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧? Bring a shovel and collect compost anytime during open hours from the self-loading area.

Monday to Saturday: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM
Closed Sundays, statutory holidays, and Boxing Day
Compost is sold by weight on a first come, first served basis. It will be available throughout the spring, but please note that food scraps compost is very popular and may be limited.
