On Saturday, April 18, a sign unveiling was held to mark this meaningful addition and reflect on the park’s rich history.

Originally created in 1948 as a living memorial to honour Summerland’s war veterans, the park was built through the dedication and generosity of local residents—with funds raised entirely by the community.

Council initiated this sign project to highlight and honour the history of the park. For generations, it has been a place where youth sports, community spirit, and remembrance come together. This new sign helps tell that story and ensures its legacy continues for years to come.
