How to book
1. Check availability. Contact Community Services to discuss your dates. We recommend requesting your booking at least 3 weeks in advance.
2. Submit a Booking Request. Complete the form, listing every set-up, rehearsal and performance date and time you need, and sign the rental guidelines acknowledgement. Email it to events@summerland.ca.
3. Sign your rental agreement. Once your dates are confirmed, staff will prepare a rental agreement. Make sure it includes all the time you need – access to the theatre is limited to the times in your agreement.
4. Meet your technician. A theatre technician will be assigned to your rental and must be present at all times. Plan any lighting or audio changes with your technician in advance.

Rental guidelines
To keep the theatre safe and in great shape for everyone, renters must follow these guidelines. The full guidelines are included in the Booking Request form.
Supervision: a theatre technician must be present at all times; unsupervised use is not permitted. The District oversees the facility from 5:30 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
Lighting and audio: changes require the technician’s approval, and the theatre must be returned to its house settings at the end of your event.
Set-up and clean-up: renters set up and take down furniture and equipment, remove all tape, props and belongings, and leave the theatre as they found it by the end of the rental time. Items left behind are disposed of at the renter’s expense.
Lobby: no nails, staples, tacks, pins or duct tape. Posters go on the designated wood wall only.
Not permitted: glitter, confetti, open flames and glassware. Alcohol is allowed only at licensed events.
Responsibility: renters are liable for any damage during their rental and must not exceed the theatre’s occupancy limit.
