Improving Waterfront Accessibility

The District of Summerland is continuing to make our beaches more accessible and inclusive for everyone to enjoy.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐬 have now been installed at 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡, helping improve access to the waterfront for people with mobility challenges. These additions build on the mobility mat already available at Rotary Beach.

𝐀 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 is also now available at 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡, providing easier access to the beach and water. Users can access operating instructions, a waiver, and the secure storage access code through an online form (https://forms.office.com/r/A4EWWfvBmH).

We’re proud to continue enhancing accessibility along Summerland’s waterfront so more residents and visitors can enjoy our beautiful beaches this summer.
