Temporary Water Conservation Requested on Wednesday, March 25

The District of Summerland is continuing important upgrades to the community’s wastewater treatment facility, including the installation and connection of a new primary clarifier—a key component that improves treatment efficiency and supports long-term system capacity and environmental protection.

To safely complete this next phase of the project, the District is requesting that 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐢𝐞-𝐢𝐧.

The tie-in is scheduled to take place 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟕:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟓.

To help reduce pressure on the system during this time, residents are encouraged to:
• Avoid or limit water use on March 25

• Schedule high water-use activities such as laundry, dishwashing, and bathing for Tuesday, March 24 or Thursday, March 26

Your cooperation will help ensure the work is completed efficiently and safely, while supporting the long-term reliability of Summerland’s wastewater infrastructure.

The attached map shows the approximate location of properties serviced by the community wastewater system.
