Council has approved a Use Agreement with School District 67 allowing the District of Summerland to occupy, maintain, and ensure the playground for the next year (beginning February 1, 2026), with the option to extend the agreement for up to five additional years.
Although the school recently closed, Council recognizes how important this space is for children and families in our community. Keeping the playground open ensures kids can continue to play, stay active, and enjoy a safe and welcoming outdoor space.
This playground is a valued recreational asset for Summerland families, and we’re pleased it will continue to be part of everyday life in our community.
