Friday, October 17, Parkdale Place Housing Society held the official groundbreaking ceremony for Dickson Manor, a new four-storey, 90-unit affordable apartment building located at 13609 Dickson Avenue in Summerland.
Once complete, Dickson Manor will provide 90 new homes for individuals, seniors, and people with disabilities who have low to moderate incomes.
This exciting project is a collaboration between Parkdale Place Housing Society and the District of Summerland, made possible with financial support from BC Housing and CMHC.
The ceremony was attended by Ian McIntosh, Board Chair of Parkdale Place Housing Society, and Erin Trainer, Deputy Mayor of Summerland, along with members of the Summerland Council and the Parkdale Place Board of Directors.
The project aligns with the District’s strategic priority: “To Build an Adaptable and Affordable Community”. The Municipal Council has also provided financial support to help create this non-profit affordable housing complex.
An important step towards a more inclusive and vibrant Summerland!
