Wildfire Risk Reduction (WRR) work continues through our Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP). They will be very active in the 100 hectare area of 17A/17B/17C (just east of McLennan Road) which is within the Districts boundary to the west of Summerland on Crown Land. As part of the Wildfire Risk Reduction, they will be pruning, thinning, tree falling, brushing, grazing, debris management (e.g. pile and burning) and/or reforestation. People in and around the area can expect chainsaw running and pile burning taking place. This work will continue until April 15, 2024.
