Curbside Collection Missed or Have a Question?

Garbage, recycling, and food/yard waste collection in Summerland is done by Waste Connections of Canada.

• Put your appropriate carts out by 7:00 am on your collection day.
• Each commodity is picked up separately, so please leave your unemptied cart out until collected.
• Collections are usually done by 5:00 pm.

If your carts were out by 7:00 am and they weren’t collected by 5:00 pm, please contact Waste Connections directly:

Your curbside collection may have been missed or delayed due to one or more of the following reasons:

• Improper placements /spacing of your cart(s);
• Improper material (contamination) in your cart(s);
• Overfilling of your cart(s);
• Carts not accessible or hidden from view;
• Not having your cart(s) out for collection by 7:00am;
• Cart is placed by obstacles, or placed improperly;
• Presence of prohibited waste; 
• Collection is not scheduled for that particular week, refer to the Curbside Collection Calendar;
• Unfavourable Weather Conditions or unsafe conditions that could jeopardize the safety of residents and collection staff; 
  
  • Curbside Collections will occur as soon as it is safe to resume service; or
  • Please place carts and 'tag-a-bags' out by 7:00am the following day for collection.
