Update: Summerland Sanitary Landfill is Now Accepting Glass Bottles and Jars for Recycling
The Following Areas will remain closed until further notice:
- Foam Packaging Recycling (white and coloured)
- Car Battery Recycling
- Household Hazardous Waste Facility:
- Paint, Aerosol Cans, Flammable Liquids, Pesticides, Light Ballasts, Car Batteries, other Household Hazardous Wastes.
Curbside will continue as usual and the landfill will be accepting all other Recycling Depot materials.
Residents are asked to store any materials that have been suspended for acceptance at the landfill so they can be recycled or safely disposed of when the situation improves. The District of Summerland will update the public as soon as more information is available about highway openings and resumption of transportation of these materials.
