Construction on the Pier enhancements is expected to begin next week, and the pier will be closed for approximately two weeks — through to the beginning of December.
Thanks to the leadership of the Summerland Rotary Club and the generosity of community donors, several exciting improvements are being added:
• A slide and water pump for summer fun
• A ship’s ladder (stairs) for easier access out of the water
• Permanent lighting along both sides of the pier
• Protective buoys to help safeguard swimmers from motorized watercraft 
New benches, plaques, and a lifesaving device have already been installed, and final touches will include signage on the pier entrance archway.
Please note: the slide will remain closed during the winter months and will reopen in the spring.
