This morning, Mayor Holmes and Council members celebrated the grand opening of Prairie Valley Road with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The completed project improves safety, accessibility, and connectivity for everyone — featuring road upgrades, a new multi-use path, sanitary sewer and watermain replacements, and enhanced crosswalks and curbs.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
• 1,300 metres of road upgrades and a new multi-use path from Cartwright Avenue to Morrow Avenue
• 900 metres of new sanitary sewer installation
• 1,300 metres of watermain replacement
• Road safety upgrades including new crosswalks, concrete curbs, and protective barriers
These improvements have transformed Prairie Valley Road into a safer, more efficient, and more accessible corridor, connecting neighbourhoods to the downtown core and promoting active transportation.
