Campfire Ban starting August 28 at noon

Effective 𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 and until further notice, campfires are prohibited within the District of Summerland.

☑️This ban is in place to protect public safety and reduce the risk of person-caused wildfires.

☑️Due to extreme temperatures, dry conditions, and high to extreme fire danger ratings, the campfire ban will remain in effect until further notice.

This ban does not apply to: CSA-rated or ULC-rated stoves, barbeques, or portable campfire rings using gas, propane, or briquettes.

Anyone found in contravention of the ban may receive a ticket up to $2,000. If the contravention results in a wildfire, the individual may also be held responsible for all firefighting and associated costs.

🚒The Summerland Fire Department thanks the public for their cooperation.
