Alternative Approval Process (AAP) for Long-Term Borrowing

The District of Summerland is seeking electoral approval, through Alternative Approval Process (AAP), for long-term borrowing for the following projects:

• 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, Bylaw No. 2024-035

• 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, Bylaw No. 2024-036

Provincial legislation requires local governments to undergo an elector assent process to obtain elector approval for long-term borrowing.

If you 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 long-term borrowing for these projects, 𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is required.

If you 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 long-term borrowing for either project, you can 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦, which is available:

The deadline to submit an Elector Response Form is 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 (𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌). The results will be presented at the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.
