Council Committee Volunteers needed

The District of Summerland is currently recruiting for community members to get involved in local government by participating in the following four committees:

Development Process Improvement Committee (Ten positions available for a two-year term):
The Development Process Improvement Advisory Committee’s (DPIAC) mandate is to provide advice and assistance to Council and staff as the Development Services Department look to update bylaws, processes, and procedures as they relate to planning, development, and construction in the community.

Agriculture Advisory Committee (Nine positions available for a two-year term):
The Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) advises and makes recommendations to Council on policies, procedures and bylaws that affect the agricultural community and impact agricultural viability within the District of Summerland.

Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee (Seven positions available for a two-year term):
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC) advises and makes recommendations to Council by providing a local perspective on the provision of the parks and recreation services, programs and facilities in Summerland.

Community Climate Action Advisory Committee (Seven positions available for a two-year term):
The Community Climate Action Advisory Committee (CCAAC) advises and makes recommendations to Council on policies, procedures and bylaws that impact the District’s sustainability efforts.
