Age-Friendly grant approved- now seeking Volunteers for the Advisory Committee
Summerland was successful in obtaining a $21,460 grant from Ministry of Health to assist in the development and implementation of policies and plans to best support aging populations in Summerland.
With this grant funding, the District plans to conduct a high-level age-friendly assessment of the community looking at 8 main categories. This assessment will enable both the municipality and senior-serving groups to identify ways in which their work overlaps, and find ways to work together on projects of shared priority. These projects will make the community accessible for all ages and abilities. This plan is slated to occur over 9 months in 2019.
