Other Flexible Plastic Packaging
Other Flexible Plastic Packaging (OFPP) can be returned for recycling, free of charge, to the Summerland Sanitary Landfill Recycling Depot. OFPP must be sorted and separated into the proper bin at the Landfill Recycling Depot and not mixed with other recyclables.
Materials must be CLEAN and DRY.
YES Zipper-Lock & Stand-Up Pouches
Includes bags with a a zipper-seal, and pouches that stand-up. Like frozen fruit and quinoa bags.
YES Crinkly Wrappers, Bars & Bags
Including things like chip bags, candy wrappers, energy bars, wrappers for cheese, etc.
YES Flexible Packaging with Plastic Seal
Such as packaging for deli meats and cheeses, fresh pasta, etc.
YES Woven & Net Plastic Bags
Such as netting for onions, avocados, and woven plastic bags for rice and dry goods.
YES Non-Food Protective Packaging
This includes things such as bubble wrap, shipping envelopes, air packets, etc.
X Unacceptable Materials
- NO Plastic squeeze tubes
- NO Plastic lined paper/paper lined plastic
- NO 6-pack rings
- NO Cellophane for flowers/gift baskets
- NO Squishy foam
- NO Plastic strapping
- NO Biodegradable plastic
- NO PVC/Vinyl
