Business Licenses

If you are operating a business in the District of Summerland, you require a Business License. To apply for a license, complete the application form available at the Administration Office, Municipal Hall and submit it, along with your license fee. Administration staff will advise you of the required fee, and will review your application to make sure it is complete and that you have obtained approvals from the appropriate agencies applicable to your business. Once all approvals are received and the fees are paid, your Business License will be mailed to you.

Typically a Business License can be issued within 7 to 10 days, but may take longer. Licenses must be renewed every year and renewal notices are sent out in December. If you stop operating your business, please notify the Administration Office (494-6451) so that we can cancel your license. Failure to obtain the necessary license can result in a fine.
