Administration
The Administration Office includes the Chief Administrative Officer, the
Corporate Officer, Bylaw Services and support staff.
The Chief Administrative Officer provides leadership and coordination to all
departments in the discharge of their responsibilities. He provides advice and
recommendations to Municipal Council and ensures that Council�s directives and
policies are carried out. The Chief Administrative Officer oversees preparation
of annual budgets, programs and policy initiatives to ensure the consistent
delivery of high quality services to our citizens. He represents the District
of Summerland to local businesses and residents.
The Corporate Officer is responsible for supporting the legislative matters and
decisions of Council and all other statutory bodies within the Corporation.
This includes minutes of the business of the District, administration and
certification of bylaws, the execution of documents on behalf of the District,
corporate records management, elections, Freedom of Information and Protection
of Privacy requests and Board of Variance appeals.
Bylaw Services provides inspections and regulatory work related to the
enforcement of bylaws. The Bylaw officer investigates complaints with
impartiality, gathers evidence and presents that evidence in court when called
upon to do so. Bylaw Services also issues Businesses Licenses on behalf of the
District.
